YATI (36) is undergoing her life as usual. At night, she is sewing clothes by her window that is left open. The wind is cold. Yati’s empty eyes glance over the empty road. Suddenly, a knock wakes her up from her thoughts. She then takes her only daughter, JANI (9), who is sleeping near her, to their bedroom. NCO RATIB (37), POLICE CHIEF RIDWAN (39), and ROHMAN (37) have invaded her house. Intimidatingly, they treat Yati’s house like it’s their own. Warmingly, Ridwan introduces Rohman to Yati as ‘person from the government’ that will take notes of Yati’s chronological story of the disappearance of YATMAN (38), her husband. As the interrogation begins, Yati is curt and stiff. She often answers Rohman’s questions in a counterproductive way. It is clear she doesn’t trust them. Ratib and Rohman try their best to convince Yati that her husband left her in an affair and lives with another woman. However, Yati doesn’t believe them, and doesn’t want to submit to their claim. As the night grows darker, Rohman’s questions turn sexual, as he asks about Yati’s sex life with Yatman. Yati cannot take it anymore. She finally tells everything. The truth. The night before Yatman disappeared, she found Yatman battered and bloodied in front of their house. There was a print of Ratib’s boots on his chest. Yati is sure that Yatman was a victim of forced disappearance by his boss, MANDOR ROSA, because of his protest against the nonsensical working hours. Ratib is angry about this claim, Rohman doesn’t believe her, while Ridwan is worried for Yati’s own safety. The conflict is rising sky high. Rohman tries to calm the situation down, however Yati doesn’t want to submit. “We cannot help you if you keep on lying to us,” says Rohman. With pain and hollowness, Yati agrees to say the truth again. Rohman awaits her answer, for him to finally take a note of. “I miss my husband, and I want him to come back home,” says Yati. Everyone is silent. After a while, Rohman finally writes down her answer.
